some taegyu/txt vlives i've watched recently
i've never really watched vlives before but i'm on the hunt for some taehyun & beomgyu lore (partly because of my conversation with lav about her taegyu fic, partly because i'm trying to figure them out myself, partly because i am so deprived of taegyu that... yeah...) so here we go. also this post wouldn't exist without kaia's help w/ finding stuff to watch so ^^ i appreciate that as well... i hope this is readable but honestly it's kind of a mess TAT
PART ONE: TAEHYUN & BEOMGYU LIVES
these two frequently run a segment called "smash the universe radio" which i'll abbreviate as USR hopefully. i've only watched two of the USR vlives so far (one of which i didn't include commentary for since i watched it a while back.. sorry!) so i'll probably make another post/update this one if i have a lot of observations.

- Discussion on being an angel vs a devil, first of all there’s the iconic taegyuism of Taehyun calling Beomgyu “almost lucifer” whereas Beomgyu’s just like “omg my face is so pretty therefore I am an angel”... but then they actually discussed the meaning of the song and Beomgyu suits the “angel” because he’d rather take things slow romantically whereas Taehyun is more direct/straightforward and impatient? Much to think about dynamix wise…
- It was so funny when Taehyun didn’t want to admit that he didn’t like the rice noodles he had in Vietnam -- also Beomgyu was the one who covered for him/managed to correct his meaning “ah yes you aren’t used to the Vietnamese spices/taste, Korean food is prepared for Korean tastes, etc” which I thought was interesting
- instances of Beomgyu being separated from the members -- some airport photo where he wore a tan camel coat and the rest wore black, Taehyun joked about them having a group chat without Beomgyu but it was still clear that Beomgyu wasn’t exactly a fan of being separated from the rest of them although they treated it humorously; in Vietnam when Taehyun and the others went out to try rice noodles and Beomgyu stayed behind to sleep because he was tired
- omg taehyun having to choose between essence of game (yeonjun vlive segment) and crafts time (sookai vlive segment) and then just saying that he’d rather do USR… beomgyu telling him to choose one and then taehyun’s like ok beomgyu we’ll Make it interesting if we do it together.... The crumbs I am holding onto rn TTATT
- Places you want to visit with the other members: Taehyun wanting to visit all of scandinavia??? Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, etc. / Beomgyu wants to visit Eworld in Daegu to see the cherry blossoms… cue another taegyuism taehyun: wouldn’t that be dangerous / beomgyu: i dont want to talk to you… but anyways Beomgyu used to go there every spring >.<
- kth: “it’s the 100th day [anniversary of moa creation], but even on the thousand, millionth, billionth... “ cbg: *beomgyu starts to laugh at the large numbers* “ok maybe u should stop” kth: “... and even beyond that”

- When they talked about what winter means for them and how it’s different -- Beomgyu said that winter makes him more introspective and he reminisces about things/becomes more thoughtful, Taehyun was like “I’m like that year-round” and then said that winter was special as well but didn’t exactly say what changed for him
- Beomgyu keeps fixing his hair so much in this vlive… ok then… interesting to see the contrast between him a year ago and him now (he seems much more self-conscious in this vlive)
- Beomgyu hiding under the blanket whenever he got embarrassed/upset -- pretty cute imo
- Beomgyu “rainy days understand me”/finds rainy days comforting/likes the sound of rain
- Beomgyu habits: biting his lips, touching his bottom lip with one finger [while he’s thinking?]
- Taehyun habit: scratching his neck while sweating, Beomgyu slaps his hand when he does this LOL and then he says thank you… that’s so TAT

- beomgyu’s fav local pizza spot in daegu in his apartment complex, has “learned” the taste of chicken, but used to prefer pizza more — pizza isn’t the same from chains in seoul i guess

- talking about how their approaches to days off have changed over time -- taehyun tries to go with the flow but also do a lot, even soobin who used to be a homebody goes out, nice to hang out w/ friends who aren’t the members
- neither of them have big appetites lol

- asdf why are tyun and beomgyu hair so long. it keeps on getting into their eyes and it lowkey bothers me

- why is beomgyu so random [the discussion on safe driving?] and like idk how to say it but his communication is the opposite of efficient it's kind of funny, when he said he had low bp/he talks slowly/doesn't enunciate... yeah
- taehyun hard work vs talent "u need to have skill to sing this even if u have a good voice" when beomgyu was jealous of how good max's singing was LOL
- THE STORY ABT HIS VOICE INSTRUCTOR... ngl when kth kept on saying "he [the teacher, beomgyu, etc] knew what i was like back then" and then described his physical condition i was </3
- taehyun talking abt how he writes lyrics it's so methodical -- he lists out all the words that relate to the theme and then tries to form the lyrics from there and create a lot of rhymes
- beomgyu only sings songs when he likes the lyrics/meaning of the words
- at the end kth was so offended when he thought he saw a hate comment... lmfao.... idk why but that part was rlly funny to me esp when they realized he misread it

- perspectives on confessing: Soobin says that he wouldn’t confess unless he knows it’s reciprocated whereas Taehyun’s like, well what if they start liking you *after* you confess
- Beomgyu: “I think it’s really rare to have two people who like each other”/is amazed by those who have gotten married [eg his parents]
- interesting how Taehyun kind of considers all of the possibilities vs Soobin/Beomgyu yearners… LOL
PART THREE: CONCLUSION
- taehyun and beomgyu are definitely kind of tinhat despite being a main cp which i find kind of interesting. their bickering dynamic is definitely my favorite, which i got to see a couple of times in these lives ^^
- recently they've been beefing about which one of them is taller [taehyun official height is 177cm/beomgyu official height 180cm] on weverse and taehyun has been giving beomgyu some Interesting up-and-down looks... unfortunately this is what i call an "interaction" for a ship like them...
- it's interesting because the dynamic that i initially saw on [bad] youtube compilations was a little bit more one-sided [beomgyu --> taehyun] but i definitely think they both have their own ways of caring for each other -- maybe it's because i'm more attuned to taehyun in general but it's nice to see how indulgent he is of beomgyu's randomness
- beomgyu wanting to take things slow/only confessing if he knows it's requited vs taehyun being more direct/straightforward/considering the possibility of the other person liking him back *after* he confesses makes me really think sometimes
- ultimately i doubt that taegyu will ever match tyunning soulmatery or soogyu bestfriendisms BUT that's honestly part of what makes it fun... i think the fact that they aren't best friends and don't naturally gravitate towards each other necessarily is cool too!!!! [i'm realizing how tinhat i sound] plus sookai works as a side pairing to taegyu... what's not to like here!?
- in terms of fic dynamics: i think in terms of an hs/uni au they're honestly part of different crowds, beomgyu being part of his middle school band vs taehyun being really athletic/smart/almost preppy? then again taehyun also likes music but he really gives off nerdy-acapella vibes whenever i see him sing... also he just Looks like one of those tenors. no further comments
- i like any device where they have to learn from each other in some way -- taehyun is really practical and can probably benefit from beomgyu romanticism vs beomgyu lacks common sense sometimes [no offense] and taehyun is just like... [gestures vaguely] yeah
- like at least 60-70% of the physical affection i've seen between the two of them is company-backed fanservice and when they do touch each other it's more of an aggression-related thing... [thinks about taehyun tackling beomgyu to the ground. cool. thinks about taegyu arm wrestling. thinks about taehyun carrying beomgyu. thinks--] ashjjflkls;s not everyone can be hueningkai i guess.
